Vellankatla is a collection of poems named after a natural spring below Þingvallavatn, a lake in south-west Iceland. The poems are celebrations and evocations of water, often explored through experiments in form and layout. The tension between the fluid and the geometric, between flow and grid, was the inspiration for this cover. A digitally adjusted topographic map of a lake bed provides a grid for the letters of the title and the poet’s name.
